Mardi Gras Specials

Shout “Carnival!” in public in any foreign accent you like, chug a drink as tall as a third grader and learn your worth in beads when Baltimore clubs and bars take Fat Tuesday celebrations to obese proportions.

    Bourbon Street

    Bourbon Street - 3 1/2

316 Guilford Ave. - Baltimore (Downtown)

For $15, you get all the adult beverages you can drink, fire breathers, sword swallowers, a confetti explosion and other circus acts inside the Mardi-Gras themed mega club, formerly Hammerjack's. Deals start at 9 p.m. Seth Rogen look-a-like, celebrity DJ Jason Smith, who spun for the Youth Inauguration Ball with Kanye West, will give us a taste of what real djs sound like.

    RA

    RA - 5

    1390 Lancaster St. - Baltimore

If you get pumped for plastic babies floating in a drink version of a chocolate cake shot, go to Ra Sushi for its Mardi Gras celebration/1st anniversary party on Thursday, Feb. 26. Ra's drink specials that night will include $2 domestic beers, $4 Absolut and Red Bulls and $5 Queen of the Parade cocktails - a glass of champagne topped off with a splash of Pama liqueur and pomegranate seeds. For $6, you can get a plastic baby swimming in a King Cake Martini. Wear a Mardi Gras inspired outfit and you could win a $50 Ra gift certificate. But I don't think coming topless counts.

    Victoria Gastro Pub - 5

8201 Snowden River Parkway - Columbia

Strap on your feeding bag and indulge in gluttonous action in honor of Fat Tuesday at Howard County's restaurants participating in Restaurant Weeks plural - through March 8. More than 20 restaurants including the Gastro Pub (it sounds disgusting but is actually great) are offering three-course meals from $10.09 to $40.09. It takes days to eat and digest the Gasto Pub's sheperd's pie.

    Big Ass Draft Happy Hour

    735 S. Broadway - Baltimore (Fells Point)

Once I’ve moved over from pregame vodka tonic to draft, I rarely change up my choice of beer but if you’re feeling adventurous, Max's has well over 50 beers on tap. And their Big A double snake Draft Happy Hour is a good deal if you're drinking something other than standard domestics.
