Cool new things (to me) I found this weekend

For some reason I was out on the town doing new things this past weekend. AND I enjoyed it. Here they are... they were new spots to me...

    Orchard Market & Cafe

    Orchard Market & Cafe - 5

8815 Orchard Tree Lane - Baltimore

I'll start with I don't really care for middle eastern food. But a friend wanted to go for a birthday so we went. Warning tho.. if you want a drink with dinner, it's BYO. They will provide the glassware, but you need to bring a cooler too. Don't worry, you won't be the only one. When there on a friday nite, every table had a cooler sitting enxt to it. Everything we tried, 2 appeitzers, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, was fabulous. An interesting and fabulous mix of flavors I've never had before; every one of them melding together in a delightful fashion. Simply magnificient. Service was prompt and friendly. Facility clean and inviting. Make reservations if going on a weekend. They only have 18 (?) tables. Google map the directions. It's a little hard to find off Joppa road.

    The Windup Space

    The Windup Space - 5

10 W. North Ave. - Baltimore (Station North)

It's an ok bar, but it felt kinda sterile to me. But it's clean, the staff if nice and they have Bohs. What more do you need?

    The Hexagon

    The Hexagon - 5

1825 N. Charles St. - Baltimore (Station North)

I'm stretching the truth on this one; I 1st went several weeks ago. But I've been back. The space is a little dirty, but the bathrooms are sufficient. And if you are into the music playing, that makes it way cool. It's BYO, so that's cool. And basically, I like that it's not a bar, but a spot to showcase the music and not the sponsors.

    Pickles Pub

    Pickles Pub - 0

520 Washington Blvd. - Baltimore (Downtown)

I've been going to O's games for years. But I always go in the Yard on the other side. But look here! it's a party. And I can get my drunk on WAY cheaper than the beers inside the yard. Can't believe I've been missing this.
