Steakhouses I can't afford to eat at

Ever drive past the many steakhouses on Pratt Street and say, "Damn, I wish I had enough money to eat there!" Well I do. Here's my wishlist of expensive dinners.

    Sullivan's Steakhouse

    Sullivan's Steakhouse - 5

1 East Pratt St. - Baltimore (Downtown)

I did an assignment here for Metromix when this place first opened. I got to taste several of its signature martinis, but no food was included. Even the bar area was all classy and stuff. I bet that makes the steak taste better.

    Ruth's Chris Steak House - 5

600 Water St. - Baltimore (Downtown)

OK, I actually have eaten here before, and all it did was remind me that I can't afford to eat here. Money issues aside, my filet was bangin'. I want to try the pecan-crusted sweet potatoes if ever go back.

    Morton's

    Morton's - 4 1/2

    300 S. Charles St. - Baltimore (Harbor)

Everybody has heard of this place, but not everyone can afford it (me included). I imagine it's not so different from the others, but I sometimes fall into consumerist traps and the idea of status. Sue me.

    The Capital Grille

    The Capital Grille - 4 1/2

500 East Pratt St. - Baltimore (Harbor)

So yeah, this is starting to get redundant. Another really expensive restaurant known for really good steak. This one originated in D.C. so you can take a date and pretend you're a Senator with an intern while your spouse is at home.

    Fogo de Chao

    Fogo de Chao - 4 1/2

600 East Pratt St. - Baltimore (Downtown)

Let's add a little culture to this overwhelmingly white-collar list. This Brazilian joint puts a Latin twist on the traditional steakhouse. Unfortunately that Latin twist doesn't lower the price that much.
