Chain Restaurants That Don't Suck

Sure, there are enough great restaurants in Charm City that would never have to resort to a chain if you didn't want to. Well, in the event that you want to see how folks in the 'burbs kick it, here's a list of chain restaurants that don't suck.

California Pizza Kitchen -

118 Shawan Road - Hunt Valley

This place comes up with some pretty tasty pizza concoctions. I love the jerk chicken pizza, it's got the right balance of spicy and sweet.

8161 Honeygo Blvd. - White Marsh

I love me some mexican food and this place always delivers. In addition to good food, the place has a great selection of Central American beers worth the trip alone.

Bahama Breeze -

100 E. Joppa Road - Towson

OK, this place might over-dose on the Caribbean theme, but the food is surprisingly good. For Caribbean restaurants attached to mega-malls, this place is about as good as it gets.

Chipotle Mexican Grill -

621 E. Pratt St. - Baltimore (Downtown)

Chipotle is te Godfather of all burrito joints. Its often imitated, but never duplicated. Don't let the imposters fool you, this is the only place for short-order burritos.

600 East Pratt St. - Baltimore (Harbor)

Despite its notoriously bad service, this Asian bistro is a great place to grab some dinner for a night on the town. I strongly recommend lettuce wraps for starters, the orange chicken entree and a banana spring roll for dessert.

Pei Wei Asian Diner -

6302 York Road - Baltimore (Belvedere Square/ Govans)

This short-order spot is a quicker, cheaper alternative to P.F. Chang's. The food is just about as good too.
