His later brother River had a scar below his lip, and this strong-but-silent-type bears a vertical scar just above his. But unlike his older sibling, this Phoenix didn’t earn his scar the standard way (e.g. childhood injury, invasive surgery, hitting a telephone pole without one's seatbelt...).

Joaquin was born with his sexy scar and believes that it comes from a day when his mother was pregnant with him and claims she felt serious pains out of nowhere. Way to be even more mysterious, dude.
