While the rest of the world was still slumbering in their oversized beds, the 2009 Emmy Awards nominations were announced bright and early Thursday morning (can't they at least wait for the sun to come up?).

The eternally ratings-challenged “30 Rock” leads the pack with a whopping 22 nominations this year, including nominations for stars Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, while AMC's ad exec drama “Mad Men” received a very respectable 16 nominations.

The 61st Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sunday, September 20, at 8 p.m./7c on CBS.
