We can't explain it. We're not even sure how it all began. What we do know is there's an awful lot of sushi to scarf down in Towson. This hotbed of Japanese cuisine hasn't been given any sort of official title, but between the handful of sushi joints on York Road and the handful on Pennsylvania, this area gets our vote when we're having a craving. Here are your options:

Kikumoto Sushi & Japanese Restaurant
510 York Road - TowsonThis is one of the newer kids on the ol' sushi block. We're not ready to pass judgment on where Kikumoto falls on the fish scale (heh), but if you feel strongly one way or the other, you can let us know by rating this restaurant.
Kyodai Rotating Sushi Bar
1 W. Pennsylvania Ave. - TowsonThis one's fun if you're in a grab-the-world-by-the-plate mood. Sit at the bar, watch the sushi slowly float by. Consider that approaching piece of fish. Watch it go by. Decide you wanted it after all. Hope no one at the other end of the bar picks it up. Finally, snag it on its next approach. This on-the-spot decision-making can be a bit stressful, and if your eyes are feeling particularly hungry, those dishes (and the price) really add up.
San Sushi Too
10 W. Pennsylvania Ave. - TowsonIf you don't mind eating sushi while the person opposite you chows on pad Thai, you'll be OK at this dual-personality eatery. Some people like to leave their raw fish unadulterated, and the attached Thai One On can confuse the issue a bit.
Sushi Hana
6 E. Pennsylvania Ave. -
Towson
This is by far, our favorite of the bunch. When we're having a serious craving, only the unusual and ample rolls at Sushi Hana can satiate us. Pull up a stool at the cozy sushi bar and order a Bruce roll, dragon roll or spicy tuna roll. Also, be sure to get the tuna sashimi appetizer--it's incredible.
