When the weather finally takes a long-awaited turn for the better, we want to see change happen. Watching leaves re-emerge and flowers bloom may be as exciting as watching paint dry to many, but a good bite and a cold drink just might change your mind. There are a few restaurants around Baltimore fortunate enough to afford diners a front row seat. So, whether you're watching fledgling robins learn to fly or overzealous athletes pull hammies on tennis courts, this list should help you find some restaurants with a park view.

The Parkside
4709 Harford Rd. - BaltimoreLet's just get it out of the way now. Parkside isn't really on a park. That's not to say you can't live vicariously through its name, though.
Sanders' Corner
2260 Cromwell Bridge Rd. -
Baltimore
Sander's Corner, a.k.a. "that dam place," has a damn good view. Nestled in the woods just below Loch Raven Dam, this is as scenic a spot as you'll find so near the Beltway.
George's
101 W. Monument St. - BaltimoreFor classy dining around Mount Vernon Park, pop into Peabody Court's lobby. George's is just steps from a looming monument to one of the restaurant's namesakes. (There are three, apparently, despite the errant apostrophe.)
Donna's Coffee Bar
800 N. Charles St. - BaltimoreIf you want to see the park, though, with its dog walkers, daydreamers and loiterers, Donna's al fresco seating affords a front row view. (Though, a to-go container and a quick jaunt across the street could earn you loiterer status of your own.)
Claddagh Pub
2918 ODonnell St. -
Baltimore
We could say every restaurant on O'Donnell Square fits this category, but we're gonna suggest Claddagh for one reason. While most of the restaurants here have wide-open windows with a view, Claddagh is the only one with outdoor table service. We're people-watchers. Is that creepy?
Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop
2919 ODonnell St. - BaltimoreWe also recommend Vaccaro's, because we always recommend dessert. Grab some gelati, then cross the street and grab a park bench.
Oregon Grille
1201 Shawan Road - CockeysvilleYou're probably not here to go play in the grass, hunh? Don't fret. The drive to Oregon Grille meanders through verdant steeplechase country. We're not personally of the horse and hound set, but no wardrobe's complete without a good set of jodhpurs.
Pickles Pub
520 Washington Blvd. - BaltimoreOrioles Park is a park isn't it? Pickles might be the most popular of the bars by Oriole Park. We'd have to think it has something to do with Miller Lite.
Sliders Bar & Grill
504 Washington Blvd. - BaltimoreBlock party. Seriously. On game days, these otherwise distinct bars blur into an orgy of sports-minded bliss.
Patterson Perk
2501 Eastern Ave. - BaltimoreThe cafe with the cute name isn't really all that spacious, so grab an iced coffee and head for the great outdoors. Patterson Park should have at least one open seat, and plenty in the way of people-watching.
Sharky's Bar and Grill
2819 Eastern Ave. - BaltimorePart kitschy neighborhood bar, part restaurant, Sharky's is cheap and friendly and we're fans of its parkside location. The bar sponsors quite a few teams, so expect folks in matching shirts sharing space at the bar.
Three...
2901 East Baltimore St. - BaltimoreThree...'s al fresco dining draws fresh air-seeking crowds for its food and its location. With its tables situated on Linwood Avenue, diners can almost pretend they're sipping Cab and sampling small plates in the park, not across the street from it.
Gertrude's
10 Art Museum Drive - BaltimoreWith all the greenery of Wyman Park and Johns Hopkins around, there's no need to bother with greens for dinner, right? Besides, Chef John Shield's menu of regional seafood dishes keeps things fresh enough as it is. If cool breezes and rippling water are what you're after, though, try dining on the terrace.
Where do you like to dine and enjoy the great outdoors?
