Blue Moon Café and Coffee House
1621 Aliceanna St.,
Baltimore
When you just have to have some scrapple and something haute-comfort like gooey cinnamon buns. Just expect to wait.
City Cafe
1001 Cathedral St.,
Baltimore
City Cafe's specialty coffees might be a little pricey, but pair one with something from the brunch menu and you'll be happy you did. Can we recommend thick-sliced ham and potato pancakes?
Eggspectation
6010 University Blvd.,
Ellicott City
You don't have to crave eggs to brunch here, but it helps (the menu includes everything from egg-chiladas to a waffle Benedict). If all things oviform aren't your cup of tea, try the crepes or French toast. And if you're looking for an excuse to up your daily fruit intake, the juices include honey blueberry and banango.
Gertrude's
10 Art Museum Drive, BaltimoreYou need more than just brunch. You need culture and sophistication. You need fine works of art and priceless masterpieces. You need a sculpture garden with fountains. You need Gertrude's.
Golden West Café
1105 W. 36th St., BaltimoreHipster's need brunch too. Thank goodness, then, for Golden West's all-day every-day selection of Tex-Mex and vegan breakfast foods.
Little Havana Restaurante y Cantina
1325A Key Highway,
Baltimore
We never needed a reason to partake in pitchers of bloody Marys while sitting outside on a deck overlooking the Harbor, but Little Havana gives us one. Be prepared to spot-stalk in the parking lot.
Miss Shirley's
513 W. Cold Spring Lane, BaltimoreWhen we're in the mood to run into one or several people we know on a Sunday morning, we usually head over to Shirley's. The service and the wait might leave a bad taste in our mouths, but the crab and fried green tomato eggs Benedict and grilled breakfast kabob do not.
Morning Edition Cafe
153 N. Patterson Park Ave.,
Baltimore
This is where to go when you have three hours to kill and can't think of a better way to do it than by sitting in a Vermont-style cafe nibbling delicious muffins while waiting on a custom omelet that takes ages to prepare. Good thing you can keep ordering Chambord mimosas.
One World Cafe
100 W. University Parkway, BaltimoreVegans need brunch, too. And for that reason, we always head to One World when we have a vegan who needs entertaining. Organic blue corn cakes, vegan pancakes with soy margarine and the tofu scrambler help seal the deal.
Red Star
906 S. Wolfe St.,
Baltimore
True, Mom might not be so proud when she hears you're eating burgers for what is a essentially breakfast, but Red Star's good burger (the restaurant's name, not ours) is difficult to resist no matter what time it is. Perhaps the farmer's frittata or the Baltimore crab hash are more appropriate brunch options.
Waterfront Hotel
1710 Thames St.,
Baltimore
When you're hoping to beat Fells Point crowds to the punch, WTF's $10 all-you-can-drink brunch special is a good way to get started.
Ze Mean Bean Cafe
1739 Fleet St.,
Baltimore
There's nothing mean about Ze Mean Bean's Eastern European brunch options. And when paired with live jazz, well, it's down right delightful.
