The beauty of barbecue restaurants is that no matter where you go you're bound to get the best barbecue in town. Barbecuers are a very proud people, and each one will adamantly claim to be the best. So who really is the best? There are far too many variables to decide a clear-cut winner, but seriously, is there such a thing as bad barbecue? We think not. Especially not at these places. Check out the flava', son (and daughter)!

Andy Nelson's Southern Pit BBQ
11007 York Road -
Cockeysville
If longevity matters in the barbecue debate, this place would be a top contender for best in town. The sweet and tangy blend of the Nelson's Memphis-style barbecue makes for some mouth-watering meat.
Big Bad Wolf's House of Barbeque
5713 Harford Road - BaltimoreGrandma, what tasty barbecue you have. Favoring a Carolina-style, the barbecue here is more tangy than sweet.
Chaps Pit Beef
5801 Pulaski Highway - BaltimoreSituated in a strip club parking lot, this little shack is home to Baltimore's most notorious barbecue. It has been featured on Guy Fieri's "Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives" and is frequented by the "Ace of Cakes" crew. If Food TV personalities are name-dropping this place, it must be doing something right.
Corner Stable
9942 York Road - CockeysvilleYork Road's got the barbecue game on lock. This particular spot has all the charm you expect of a good barbecue restaurant: Terribly messy, yet delightfully delicious.
Famous Dave's
10500 Owings Mills Blvd. - Owings MillsYeah, we know it's a chain, but this barbecue juggernaut can throw down with the best of 'em. With several different styles of barbecue, Dave's certainly makes for a tasty adventure.
Harborque
1421 Lawerence St. - BaltimoreCarolina-style barbecue comes to Locust Point with several sauce options and something called a BBQ sundae. Really. Hush puppies are also available as a side. Yay!
JD's Smokehouse
3000 ODonnell St. -
Baltimore
This is our kind of place: A barbecue restaurant and night spot rolled into one. The Canton barbecue venue manages to host herds of bar-hopping types every weekend without compromising its food.
Oriole Park at Camden Yards
333 W. Camden St. - BaltimoreBoog's is a Baltimore barbecue institution. Any self-respecting O's fan has enjoyed its barbecue pork sandwich. Add a Clipper City draft and you got yourself an authentic Camden Yards experience (unfortunately, being at Camden Yards, it can get a little pricey).
Punk's Backyard Grill
2002 Annapolis Mall - AnnapolisThough the name seems a tad abrasive, this place is a little more sophisticated than the average barbecue joint. It caters to everyone from grill enthusiasts to vegetarians.
Rub BBQ
1843 Light St. - BaltimoreAdding to the regional scope of barbecue spots, this SoBo spot favors a Texas-style barbecue. Texans don't mess around when it comes to their barbecue, and neither does Rub.
