Zachi, a colloquial Arabic expression for "tasty," is an apt moniker for this gourmet market in Mount Vernon. Turning on Read Street from Park Avenue, you'll quickly spot Zachi Café's distinctly shaded cucumber-green façade. Featuring standard deli favorites and serving breakfast all day, Zachi also brews smooth, flavorful coffee. While many cafés are content to stop with the coffee-breakfast-sammich trifecta, at Zachi, this is only the beginning. Several Middle Eastern-inspired sandwiches, salads and drinks are also featured, as Metromix was pleased to discover.
