It was just before noon on a weekday, and our party of three was spreading itself pretty liberally across a few of Mick O'Shea's bar tables. The waitress primly suggested we actually use coat hooks. The nerve. Even though we were the only ones there, she seemed to think she needed tables for when things got busy. "At happy hour?" we quipped a little too loudly. Hurriedly arranging tables and doing some last minute behind-the-bar prep, the waitress pointed out that a lunch crowd would be arriving shortly. And damned if she wasn't right. It was a slow afternoon, she told us later, but every table was filled by the time we headed out.
