Various elegant, trendy and otherwise attractive restaurants compete for the Light Street traffic that meanders through Federal Hill. So, the fact that the unadorned, almost unnoticeable Elvis Restaurant & Carryout receives a steady flow of customers means something. The appeal of this tiny Mexican eatery lies in the unpretentious, authentic and wholesome Mexican fare served there. Friendly service doesn't hurt, either. We were especially pleased with an order of nachos, which is substantial enough to be a meal itself. The menu offers plenty of options for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike, and all of the dishes are inexpensive, priced between $5 and $7. And, wow, the tangy refried beans are tastier than those found at chains like Chipotle or Taco Bell.

Don't believe us? Check it out for yourself.
