The slightly sleepy streets of Catonsville have not traditionally been known for restaurants that transported diners to other cultures, but that's all changed thanks to the addition of El Nayar. Metromix visited the eatery, which brings an authentic and affordable taste of Nayarit, Mexico to a town in need of spicing up.
We were greeted by co-owner Maria Flores, whose family also runs an Elkridge location. According to El Nayar’s Web site, the Flores family’s hometown is located in the state of Nayarit, "a beautiful state on the west-central coast of Mexico, where farmers, surfers and miners peacefully coexist." That mellow, down-to-earth vibe was evident at the restaurant.
