Boog's BBQ
Pork sandwich: $8
The pitch: We started at Boog's because it was on the opposite side of the stadium from our seats. And yes, Boog Powell was there, signing autographs in the drizzling rain. We ordered the pork sandwich. It was the messiest item of all sampled by Metromix. The pork had a nice flavor that won't disappoint fans of spicy food. The overflowing sandwich was difficult to hold and eat even though a plate was provided. A knife and fork would have been better. The thin bread didn't make the task any easier.
Full count? Given its reputation as a local institution, we were surprised how mediocre Boog's sandwich was. Most of what we sampled was a better value and taste than this pork sandwich. Sorry, Boog.
Injury report: So far, so good. No rumblings on the stomach front. Old Boog goes down smooth. Heh.
