Mac n' cheese at SoBo Café
Ingredients: Macaroni with tomatoes, cream cheese and a zillion other things that make it awesome
Damage: $5
Skinny: The mac and cheese at SoBo is actually famous. It's the TomKat of the macaroni world, if you will. Every restaurant I visited asked if I'd been to, was going to or had ever heard of SoBo's version. The addition of cream cheese to the recipe makes for a thicker, creamier and more delicious variation. And while SoBo lists (and prices) its mac as an appetizer, it could easily be a meal for two. If you do chase this baby with a meal, though, don't come crying to me when you can't get your tubby, bloated self out of your chair. Bottom line—it's huge, and it's stellar. Run—don't walk. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. (Although, with $200 you could afford 40 servings of Baltimore's most-loved mac and cheese.)—Jen Bunty
