Rockfish tacos at Austin Grill
Credit:Michael Cook
Ingredients: Wind-powered soft flour tortillas stuffed with grilled rockfish and lettuce
Damage: $11.50 nets two tacos with black beans, rice, pico de gallo and sour cream.
Skinny: Austin Grill makes a big deal of being wind-powered. We don't know what this has to do with fish tacos, but we find it endearing. Austin's rockfish had a good grilled taste, which is nice since the rest of the taco had almost no taste at all. A smear of green something in the tortilla provided a hint of salsa-like flavor but couldn't compete with the dry mouthful of chopped lettuce, cabbage and carrot that probably came out of a Dole mixed-salad bag. We also think a wedge of lime is a necessary accompaniment to any fish taco and wish they had included one.
