Foie gras and Kobe beef slider at Salt

Ingredients: Foie gras and Kobe beef with a truffle oil aioli and red onion marmalade
Damage: $15 for one slider. Yikes!
Skinny: Salt's take on the slider is slightly larger than others in size and humongously larger in flavor. We're talking layers and layers of flavor delicately challenging and enhancing one another. Unfortunately, as any hairdresser will tell you, layers cost money. Salt may have taken the slider too far. Is foie gras really what we look for in a mini burger? Imagine buying a $50 cashmere wife-beater. Sure, it would be comfy, but would it look right as you cruise Eastern Avenue in your Trans Am?
