Surf and turf sliders at J Pauls
Ingredients: One beef and one crab slider, each topped with Cheddar and Jack cheeses, a pickle slice and grilled onions, served with mustard and tangy Thousand Island, as well as crispy tobacco onions on the side
Damage: Combined, the cheeseburger and crab cake sliders cost $6.95. For larger portions, purchase four for $11.95 and eight for $20.95. Cheeseburger sliders alone cost three for $9.95, six for $13.95 and nine for $17.95. The price per slider (we're talking strictly beef here) ranges from $1.99 to $3.32.
Skinny: J Paul's sliders are unexciting in every way. Though crab meat often proves delicious in its many iterations, this approach did little to accentuate the crustacean's natural goodness. Additionally, the cheese on the burgers isn't melted, and the rolls aren't toasted. Tobacco onions, by the way, are long strips of zesty fried onions. Think onion rings on the straight and narrow. Sadly, those are probably the highlight of this order.
