Home fries at Jimmy's Restaurant
Ingredients: Peppers and cubed potatoes mashed into one huge, salty mess
Damage: $1.70 for a side (that could serve two)
Skinny: While we can't complain about the price, we couldn't help but wonder what else was in this potato mixture. The gloppy mess was piping hot. While the peppers add a kick to the dish, Jimmy's home fries were messy and lacked the means to impress. The home fries were accompanied by ketchup and ranged in consistency from burnt to mushy, no happy medium. Granted, we only paid $1.70 for these cubed spuds, but we could have used that money to invest in something more satisfying, like saving up for Jimmy Choo's instead of Jimmy's chews. What Jimmy's lacked in presentation and taste, it made up for in prompt, home-style service. This place is doing somethin' right, though; Jimmy's was hopping with hungry people! Cubed spuds, anyone?—Laura Duffy
