Hot wings: Atomic wings at Camden Pub
Ingredients: When I asked the bartender what she thought of Camden Pub's atomic wings, she said they are, "very, very hot." Manager Brian Johnson used to make them with straight habanero. As a result of all the cryin' eyes he saw along the bar on wing night, he has since cut that blend with some spices, including garlic.
Damage: Purchase 8 wings for $7 or 50 wings for $25. If you're in the know, you'll stop by for the Tuesday Wing Night and pay only $0.40 a wing.
Skinny: These wings are indeed "very hot." The habanero worked itself into my nostrils almost immediately, and it wasn't long before the sniffles set in. On a cool day the front door to the pub was propped open, and despite the November breeze, sweat settled on my brow and the back of my neck. Camden Pub serves excellent wings, with the heat of a MLB pitcher to boot.
