Arcos
Once you see Arcos you’ll be tempted to go just for the atmosphere and chilled mugs of cold beer. Arcos is cozy but not dark, with lots of great exposed brick and stained wood. Plus, in nice weather you can sit on a patio surrounded by brick arches and shaded by hanging ferns.
Mexican restaurants can often be judged on the quality of the free chips and salsa. Arcos' chips are homemade, and the salsa is so fresh you can detect the separate flavors of tomato, cilantro, onion and jalapeno. Entrees average $15, though tortas and light fare like the awesome chilaquiles are less.
The service is friendly. A couple of the menu descriptions feature creative translations, but it hardly matters. We like everything we’ve had.
