Atmosphere
The motto of the Café is "Where food, art and music come together," and that seems to perfectly sum up the overall vibe of the place. The dining area is airy and bright with a large window overlooking the action on Charles Street. Each month, the Café showcases work by local artists and holds an opening reception. Brown and Maughlin take a hands-on approach to running the Café, as you'll usually find one or both of them behind the front counter taking orders and serving up the specials of the day. They also take the time to get to know their customers, greeting regulars by name and asking newcomers if they live or work in the area. We also liked the fact that our orders were brought out to us at our table instead of us having to wait at the counter.
