Menu
Michael Tourangeau, co-owner of Impressed Café, is first and foremost a chef. Everything is prepared in-house, from scratch, and he even goes so far as to check the weather a day in advance to decide what specials go on the menu. Rainy and cold? Expect a hearty stew in a bread bowl. Hot and humid? They'll bring out the ice cream maker and put soft shell crab sandies on the menu.
Daily specials are what pack regulars in between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. (Impressed's busiest time), and are fairly economical (usually $6 to $9 including a drink). The diverse offerings range from well-known Baltimore favorites (a fried flounder sandwich with homemade French fries) to interesting spins on comforting classics (jalapeno mac and cheese with salsa garlic toast.)
In addition to specials, Impressed serves sandwiches (with chips and a pickle) like chicken salad for $5 and the "Impressed Club" with your choice of ham, turkey or roast beef for $5.47. Fancy something heartier? Try a hot turkey sandwich with mushrooms and cheese for $5.80, or a walnut-encrusted chicken breast for $6.09. And, of course, Impressed offers an array of salads for those seeking something on the lighter side.
