Ice Cream Castle
Frozen beach treats: Regular chocolate milkshake at Ice Cream Castle
Ingredients: Chocolate syrup, milk and vanilla ice cream blend up nicely. And, conveniently enough, they taste good together, too. Crown it with a squirt of whipped cream from the can, and you have a chilled drink fit for a king. Or queen. Or anyone else who might wear a crown.
Damage: $4.99
Skinny: At more than four times what an Arby's Shake of the Month costs just a few miles down the road, this had better be a darned good milkshake. Fortunately for Ice Cream Castle, it is! The whipped cream on top is more for decoration, but it's what's inside that counts. The chocolate is sweet, and the consistency is perfect--neither suck-'til-I-get-a-brain-hemorrhage thick nor "Where's the NesQuik bunny?" thin. And it's not often that you find a milkshake worthy enough to bring together "brain hemorrhage" and "NesQuik bunny" in the same sentence.--Jason Rhodes
