Frozen beach treats

Frozen beach treats: Frozen café caramel at Caffe Café
Ingredients: This cart on the deck of the Plim Plaza Hotel serves up frozen java blended with ice and a limited choice of add-ins. I made mine caramel and topped it with whipped cream.
Damage: $5
Skinny: As a non-coffee drinker, the best thing I could say about this frozen "treat" was that at least the first sip didn't burn me to my very uvula. However, my companion informed me this actually was high-quality stuff, so who am I to argue? The ribbon of caramel swirled throughout added a slightly sweet taste, and I'm sure the vanilla, mocha and chai versions had their own virtues, as well. We drank ours from the rocking chairs next to the cart while watching the 16-to-22-year-old world bounce by en masse. But be warned: A small sign by the steps (we didn't notice it until we were on our way out) designates the rockers for Plim Plaza guests only. Whatevs, they weren't using them anyway.--Jason Rhodes
