Browsing for books can certainly work up a thirst and an appetite. Thankfully, Kramerbooks does browsing and boozing equally well. The bookstore with a bar/restaurant in the back (or rather, the bar/restaurant with a bookstore in the front) is located right in the heart of Dupont Circle, and truth be told, you could easily spend your entire day there. This hot spot is open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily, and 24 hours on weekends. Food portions are hearty, options are many, and the overall vibe of the place makes it ideal for meeting and greeting in downtown D.C. And good news for those who can't stand to be away from your computer for more than five seconds: You can check your e-mail at the bar. Yes, that puts an entirely new perspective on drunk e-mailing, but don't let us stop you. We'll just be in the self-help section looking for books on Internet co-dependency issues.
