The Wine Market: User Reviews

Friends picked this rest. for a sunday brunch. Honestly I was prepared for a pretentious rest. and a small meal. I'm happy to say, it was such the opposite. The rest. was bright and open. It used to be an old wherehouse of some sort, you can admire this old buildings with large columns while your waiting for your meal. Oh, the meal. The brunch menu was limited but had nice offerings. My meal was very filling and good!

No wonder this place is always packed. Start with a nice wine and drinks list, plus a discount on what you take home, add interesting food choices and exceptional preparation and you've got a winning formula. Try the braised short ribs appetizer, served with a port wine reduction sauce, for example. Fair pricing for the quality, too.

It's food and wine as or almost as good as the Charleston for a third of the cost. All you have to do without is the prententiousness, doting service, and elegant atmospher; which is definately not worth an extra couple hundred bucks for anything but the most special occasions.

This is a great place for a splurge dinner, although you can go cheap if you skip appetizers and dessert, but then what's the fun? The food was excellent, try the mac & cheese.
