Mahaffey's Pub's Thursdays gastronomique
When you think of Mahaffey's, the first thing that comes to mind is, of course, its amazing selection of international craft beers. Its food menu is typical pub grub-style fare every day of the week except Thursdays, when owner Wayne Mahaffey and Chef Jack Crosby put their heads together to create an upscale menu that complements the upscale beer selection. The menu offers six entrees and two appetizers (a miracle when you consider the size of Mahaffey's kitchen). The menu changes weekly, so don't expect the Caribbean grouper (pictured, $12.95) and Thai crab cake ($11.95) that Metromix sampled (but hope some sort of crab cake is on the menu when you go). The most expensive offering is $13.95, so Mahaffey's won't break the bank. Whatever is on the menu, though, expect it to be good by itself, and great paired with the right beer.
