We'll take one of everything, please

The worn interior of Soup's On isn't so much neglected as lived-in, which creates a clean, homey atmosphere in the Mount Vernon row house. Large windows provide plenty of sunlight and a view of autumn's wind-whipped leaves tumbling down Preston Street. Students (from nearby UB and MICA) looking for high quality, low cost soups and sandwiches fill the establishment almost as fully as the warming scent of the bistro's offerings.
Once we saw the chalkboard menu, our purpose was clear: Try every soup available. True, there were only two of us and nine soups, but why not? What's a two hour lunch break smack dab in the middle of a work week? (Well, technically it was work. For us, anyway. Delicious, delicious work.) We ordered one of everything, and got down to business.
