Jumbo turkey leg

First impression: There's nothing like jumping into a situation feet first, so we started with the jumbo turkey leg at Jimmy's Cafeteria, likely the largest single item offered at the Fair. The leg was very meaty and surprisingly tender. Greasy and messy, but incredibly filling. The skin looked rougher than it turned out to be. Numerous small bones made their presence known during the meal. Exercise caution.
Fair damage: At $8.50 per leg, this was the single most expensive item we sampled, but it was absolutely worth the cost, unlike other items we encountered on this tour.
Midway mood: We're off to a good start. Although sun + no clouds + little shade = potential for disaster. We're a little scared.
