Dalesio's
Dalesio's is one of the prettiest buildings in Little Italy. Rich wood paneling and soft lighting combine with decorative wrought iron and soft jazz to provide an elegant atmosphere in which to dine. The attentive, gentle service complements the experience. Once upon a time, Dalesio's helped pioneer spa cuisine (remember that craze? It was good food that was also good for you). The legacy of light, flavorful sauces remains. The pasta dishes are excellent, but the penne in marinara that comes as a side for some of the seafood and other dishes is so uninspired we almost thought it was a joke. It looks like what we make in the microwave at home. The seafood itself is fresh, and the desserts are classic examples of Italian dessert-making. The wine list isn't extensive but is fairly well priced for an otherwise expensive restaurant.
