Obrycki's
This is the classic Baltimore crab house. Call ahead at Obrycki's, because you can be sure you're not the only one going there on any given night. And, as one of the more popular seafood restaurants, Obrycki's may be well stocked with big crabs or eaten bare of all but the runts.
Though Obrycki's has some good drafts (what goes better with crabs than Backfin Pale Ale?), the bar isn't much of a party spot. With no outdoor seating or a view of the water, Obrycki's isn't quite as fun for those not wrist-deep in crustacean.
Origin: Mediums were the only crabs available when we were there, and they hailed, sadly, from Louisiana. Maryland crabs are brought in whenever possible.
Spices: The only thing Obrycki's will reveal about its spice mix is that it's black-pepper based. The brown, mud-like flavorings may look less than appetizing, but who cares? We think it's near perfect and this is crab-picking after all; the squeamish need not apply.
Prices per dozen: Medium: $46, Large: $59
(Prices should stay the same. Availability will change.)

I agree with Canton Dockside, but can't believe Bill's Terrace Inn did not make the Top 5.
