Contender: Five Guys
Credit:Robert Jacobs
Meat: Fresh ground beef
Condiments: Lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mayo
Bun: Sesame seed hamburger roll
Damage: $4.95
Side notes: Fighting the crowds in Pratt Street Pavilion can be a drag; sniveling rug-rats, paunchy middle-aged tourists and gangs of blue-haired pensioners can rattle the nerves and destroy the appetite.
Decision: But...it was worth it. We were pleasantly surprised with this fat, yummy burger. There's nothing fancy about it--just old time American fast food at its best. You get two of everything on this baby: two thick beef patties, two slices of cheese, two tomatoes--all stacked on a tasty sesame seed bun and served hot, juicy and delicious.
