Ice cream shops
Storm Brothers Ice Cream
This little ice cream shop overlooking the aptly-named Ego Alley is a low key treat in a high class town. While exotic foods are good for an adventure, it's hard to beat good, old fashioned ice cream on a warm day by the water. The locally-owned operation offers all the classic flavors but also features some surprising innovations: Play-Doh (doesn't actually taste like Play-Doh), chocolate almond coconut and cotton candy are a few you just have to try. This shop takes cash only, so remember to stop at the ATM, but be grateful—that policy helps keep prices low.
Annapolis Ice Cream Company
We were only going to mention one ice cream shop, but we couldn't pick between these two. Annapolis Ice Cream makes its own sweets on site using natural and organic ingredients. Computer monitors mounted on the wall let you know what flavors are available. If you order just one scoop, you'll still feel like you got three, as Annapolis Ice Cream gives very generous servings. Have a seat and chat while you indulge, or snag some Sharpies and decorate a spoon to add to the ever-growing collection covering the walls.
