B-more is famous for its steamed blue crabs, but picking the treasured meat from the shells is a messy and time-consuming venture. Crab cakes provide a simple, refined alternative. While recipes and prices vary, these balls and patties of concentrated crab meat can stuff a sandwich or serve as the savory centerpiece of a platter.
