A person has a lot of choices these days when it comes to what appetizers and munchies to order. You could go good and greasy and get fries, nachos or onion rings. You could opt for something hearty like chicken wings or chili or get the latest in app-innovation like Southwestern egg rolls, crab pretzels or mini-burgers.

However, have you considered an old-school app such as the always fashionable cheese plate? Whether it's a basic arrangement of Cheddar, Colby and crackers or an impressive array of imported French Brie, buffalo mozzarella and some smoked Gouda arranged with crusty bread and fresh fruit, you can't go wrong with cheese and starch. Metromix sampled cheese plates around town to let you know what the big fromáge is, and what's just plain old Velveeta.

Find out where our favorite cheese plates can be found.
