Ah, yes, summer is upon us...and summer in Baltimore means brutal heat and humidity. We wouldn't have it any other way. There's a perverse sort of pride that goes hand-in-hand with surviving and thriving in an environment where the mercury's through the roof. There are basically two approaches to weathering Baltimore summers: The first approach is to go all Nietzsche and just hit it head-on. Remember—what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! And good luck with that one, by the way.
The second approach—which we officially endorse—is to befriend someone who has a pool and locate an establishment that sells delicious smoothies. We know from experience that sitting on a diving board and drinking a large strawberry smoothie will have a huge effect on your subjective sense of temperature.
So with this in mind, we bring you five of our favorite smoothie places. Sorry, but you're on your own with the pool thing.
