From its starting point near Towson to its end south of the Harbor, Charles Street is one of Baltimore's longest streets. Dozens of restaurants both old and new offer cuisines from around the world on this main artery. Certainly, no one can eat at them all (though we'll keep trying), so here, condensed for you, is Metromix.com's guide to eating on the 7.8-mile stretch, including descriptions, costs and some insider info from the Web site that knows what's up.

Follow us as we eat our way down Charles Street from north to south.
