As is the case with most franchise restaurants, Silver Spring isn’t doing any actual mining—with the possible exception of your wallet. They try, though, with prefab wall décor and design gimmicks you’d expect from a chain. The appetizers, most notably the crab pretzel, are delicious, but if you’re craving a steak, you can find better.
