Folk-rockers The Decemberists played a sold-out show at Rams Head on Nov. 8. Throngs of fans clearly enjoyed Colin Meloy and company's melodic songs and wonderful performance. Beginning the night with Belioz's Symphonie Fantastique, the crowd cheered in anticipation as the band took the stage. Interacting with the audience throughout the entire set, The Decemberists entertained the crowd for nearly two hours.
Opening for The Decemberists was Loch Lomond a seven-piece band also from Portland, Oregon. The band's soft, earthy sounds provided a nice prelude to the headliners. The crowd was very pleased and cheered loudly after Loch Lomond's brief 30-minute set. —Shantel Mitchell
