Spoon at Sonar, April 21
Long-time indie rockers Spoon performed a sold-out show at Sonar on April 21. Baltimore's The Oranges Band got the festivities rolling while the crowd trickled into the club. When Spoon took the stage, the band was greeted by enthusiastic fans and over-blown spotlights. The lighting continued to annoy both the audience and the band until singer Britt Daniel commented that "rock and roll doesn't need light." Despite several visual and aural setbacks, the Austin-natives plowed through a variety of songs from "Telephono" through their upcoming album, "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga."--Rob Perry
