Slick Rick at Ottobar

A diverse crowd gathered at the Ottobar on April 11 to hear the old school hip-hop of Slick Rick the Ruler, as well as the more new school styles of the opening acts, four of which were from Maryland. Local talent was definitely represented. The audience enjoyed all of the sets, but answered Slick Rick's question of which style of hip-hop they preferred with a resounding, "old school!"  Slick Rick performed with the Eclectic Collective as his backing band.—Eli Lopatin
