Mullyman
July 5, 2008
A metal bar in Dundalk may seem like a weird place to find a gathering of Baltimore's best hip-hop artists, but B-more is full of surprises these days, so why not? And anyway, the Black Hole rock club seems to be in the process of diversifying its portfolio—it now bills itself as a "multi genre" facility; so headbangers take note—this place isn't just for Megadeth anymore.
Hip-hop was the name of the game on July 5 and the joint was, as they say, jumpin'. A string of local talent—some known, some soon-to-be known—gathered to celebrate the release of Mullyman's new DVD, "B-More's Buffalo Soldier." Highlights of the evening included Huli Shallone, Ogun's "Flashy Lights Freestyle," First Fam's "Chop Chop," Young Verb freestyling for like 40 minutes straight, Nik Stylz and, of course, Mullyman, who topped off the evening with an insanely frenetic performance. If you haven't checked out Mully's "Party walkClub joint" (w/DJ Booman), you should—it's crazy.—Robert Jacobs
