Indie rock couple marries positive attitude with good music

Mates of State (pictured) played to a crowded Ottobar Nov. 23. College-aged fans dominated the audience, but a wide range of ages turned out to see the husband/wife team churn out a long, happy-go-lucky set of indie pop songs. The duo bounced and smiled throughout the night, and, looking around the bar, it seemed their positive attitude was infectious. Avocado Happy Hour and Brother Reade opened.
