Hope Night at Metro Gallery
October 26, 2008

Local bands Caleb Stine and The Brakemen and Wye Oak hosted a fundraiser at Metro Gallery Sunday night for the Obama campaign. The two rock acts played songs while volunteers for Obama raised money and recruited more volunteers for the last few weeks of the campaign. The Station North gallery was packed with mostly young faces, all eager to do their part to support their candidate. In addition to the bands, there were videos about Obama, original artwork for sale and for raffle, information about volunteering for the campaign, and a cash bar. The proceeds from the evening will go toward helping Marylanders get out the vote in nearby swing states Virginia and Pennsylvania.—Andy Cook
