Neil Young

While everyone else was at this year’s South by Southwest Music Festival hyping new albums, Neil Young dropped by to promote a different kind of project: a ’59 Lincoln Continental retrofitted to run as a zero-emission hybrid. According to Uncle Neil, the vehicle is already handling short trips well, but he and his design team are still attempting to get the “LincVolt” up to speed for longer trips, too. Meanwhile, Young’s latest LP, “Fork in the Road,” hits stores in April; it’s a concept album devoted entirely to—you guessed it—hybrid and electric cars. The man is nothing if not single-minded.
