Code Red Recordings is three labels under one umbrella. Code Red is a traditional house music label, and Spiritually Sound is its gospel-tinged cousin. Transcode is the mainstream member of the family. Code Red was founded in 2003 by partners Gary Deane and DJ Spen, who were determined to spearhead the second wave of Baltimore house music. In 2006, the label was picked up for international distribution by Defected Records, one of the largest independent labels in Europe. Code Red has sold 500,000 records worldwide and has 120 active licenses.
You can find its records in most independent record stores. On the digital side, its music is available for download on iTunes, Defected.com, Beatport.com, Traxsource.com and its own Web site, CodeRedRecordings.com.
