With the complete lineup for this year's Virgin Festival finally announced, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about the two day festival, held once again at Baltimore's Pimlico Race Course.
On Saturday, Aug. 9, scheduled performers are Bloc Party, Cat Power, Chuck Berry and The Silver Beats, Citizen Cope, Duffy, Foo Fighters, Gogol Bordello, Jack Johnson, KT Tunstall, Lupe Fiasco, The Offspring, Paramore, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, The Swell Season and Wilco. In the dance tent: DJ Dan and Donald Glaude, Erol Alkan, Ferry Corsten, Steve Lawler, Soulwax and Underworld.
On Sunday, Aug. 10, scheduled performers are Andrew Bird, The Black Keys, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Bob Dylan, The Go! Team, Iggy and the Stooges, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nine Inch Nails, She & Him, Shudder to Think, Stone Temple Pilots and Taking Back Sunday. In the dance tent: Armin van Burren, Chromeo, Deadmus, Moby, Pendulum, Rabbit in the Moon and Richie Hawtin.
Ticket prices have also been announced. Single day general
admission tickets cost $97.50 and single day VIP tickets cost $250. Two
day general admission tickets cost $175 and two day VIP tickets cost
$450.
In a quote posted on the festival's official Web site, festival founder Richard Branson said, "I couldn't be more excited about the third U.S. festival this summer. ...Virgin Mobile USA will again host a wonderfully eco-friendly event that's light on carbon impact but heavy on the rock and roll."
