While it's true that on Saint Patrick's Day, everyone can claim to be a little bit Irish, in this town, that old maxim is more likely to be true. Since the early 1800s, Baltimore has been a city known to attract a large number of Irish immigrants. They worked in our port, built railways and emerged as leaders in politics, religion and the arts. So it's not surprising that many generations later, Baltimore still has a thriving Irish population and cultural heritage to match. Metromix found several Irish bands in town that play everything from traditional chanteys to modern rock with Emerald Isle influences.

Rock of the mornin' to you.
